“It’s like he woke up and jumped on his back. Oh my goodness. Wow, that’s crazy.”

Longtime UFC color commentator Joe Rogan couldn’t quite believe what occurred after Charles Oliveira submitted Kevin Lee at UFC Brasilia.

Oliveira defeated Lee by third-round guillotine choke In the main event of UFC Brasilia this past weekend. After tapping to the choke, Lee tried to grab on to Oliveira’s back and continue fighting. Watching the fight as it occurred on his “Fight Companion” podcast, Rogan was left shocked by the finish of the fight.

“He tapped and he tried to go back to fighting,” Rogan said. “Dude, he tapped and he went back. Oh my God. Do you think he went to sleep and then came back? Do you think he put him to sleep? He tapped and then he went right back to wrestling.” (Transcription via BJPenn.com)

“It’s like he woke up and jumped on his back,” Rogan continued. “Oh my goodness. Wow, that’s crazy. He must have woke up. [Oliveira] must have choked him out, he must have choked him unconscious and [Lee] woke up thinking the fight was still going on. That’s crazy.”

Following his win over Lee, “De Bronx” said he would be open to a fight with Conor McGregor at any weight class, meanwhile Lee said it could be “a few years” before he fights in the octagon again.
