Cris Cyborg says USADA is picking on her, tested 3 times in less than a month
Cris Cyborg was tested three times in a short span even if she doesn’t have a bout agreement in place.
Cris Cyborg just had another visit from USADA, and according to the UFC featherweight champion, she has been tested out of competition three times in less than a month. The long reigning fighter took to social media about it, saying that the anti-doping organization might be picking on her.
“Third visit from USADA in less than a month. I don’t have fight schedule yet! Let’s go see if my next opponent is doing exams in the same proportion I’m doing! I just saying,” Cyborg wrote on Instagram. “Keeping check on USADA website… I did already 3 times this moth! pick on me!”

Cyborg also had two other Instagram posts about about submitting her sample, saying that with the amount of drug test failures at JacksonWink, they should be testing Holm a lot as well.

“It’s clear #usada is targeting me,” she wrote. “I have been tested 3 times in less than a month even though I don’t have a signed bout agreement.
“I am a clean athlete and support USADA Testing as it gives me a chance to prove to my fans I am competing clean. With that said, I want to make sure Holly Holm is being tested with the same number of tests leading up to our #ufc219 main event.
“If they show up at my house at 6am then I want them to show up at Holly Holm’s house at 6am the same amount of times!!! @JacksonWink_MMA has had more athletes than any other gym in MMA suspended by USADA and because of this I want a guarantee that both Athletes will be tested the same amount of times between now and our fight Dec. 30th!!!”
She is also correct in thinking that this amount of random testing is quite unusual for USADA to do. It doesn’t necessarily mean that they’re picking on Cyborg, but there could be various reasons for the high amount of tests in such a short timespan — such as someone leaking info on her, possible oddities from the previous tests, them being suspicious about the recent incident in Thailand, or many others.
The USADA website still doesn’t have the numbers in for either Cyborg or Holm for the 4th quarter, which should eventually be updated with these 3 tests she mentioned. For what it’s worth, quarter 3 currently lists Holm to be tested 3 times, which is the same amount Cyborg had on those previous months.
