Wednesday, Twitter briefly lit up with news that Cris “Cyborg” Justino had signed with the UFC.

Well, yes and no.

Justino, the Invicta featherweight champion, did indeed sign a contract with UFC parent company Zuffa. As MMAFighting.com‘s Ariel Helwani reported on Wednesday’s edition of UFC Tonight, Justino signed a Zuffa deal two months ago.

But her UFC debut isn’t exactly imminent.

According to the details of Justino’s contract, she’ll have to fight at 135 pounds outside the UFC and make the weight successfully before she’ll set foot in the Octagon. Cyborg’s next fight is expected to be in Invicta in July, but that fight, against an opponent to be determined, is expected at 145 pounds.

So in a best-case scenario, it will be several more months after July before Justino fights at 135 in Invicta, before she gets to the Octagon.

In other words, don’t book that trip to see Cyborg vs. arch-rival Ronda Rousey any time soon.
