Alex Pereira has put himself between two former opponents as the sweepstakes for the next UFC light heavyweight title shot heats up.

Earlier this week, former UFC champion Jamahal Hill took a shot at former titleholder Jiri Prochazka over their upcoming matchup. Hill pointed at Prochazka’s knockout loss to Pereira back at UFC 303 this past June, but “Sweet Dreams” also lost to “Poatan” earlier this year. Pereira destroyed Hill with a massive knockout finish at UFC 300 back in May.

It seems odd to see Hill use Prochazka’s loss to Pereira against him considering he suffered the same fate, but that’s what transpired earlier this week. Prochazka talked a little smack ahead of their matchup at UFC 311 this coming January and “Sweet Dreams” took the lowest road possible.

Pereira, who actually has two knockout wins over Prochazka, took to social media on Friday to play mediator. The reigning UFC light heavyweight champion basically told Hill to take a step back, win his next fight, and do what daddy says.

Check it out below:

“Calm down, my son,” wrote Pereira. “Pass this test and Dad will give you a second chance.”

Hill, who is 4-1 in his last five UFC appearances, should be able to secure another shot at Pereira’s light heavyweight crown with a decisive win over Prochazka. If Prochazka is able to spoil Hill’s 2025 campaign start then he would put himself back in contention to begin the new year, but would still need at least another win to warrant a trilogy fight against “Poatan.”
