Dan Miller returns to middleweight, faces Daniel Sarafian at UFC Fight Night 58

Dan Miller will finally make his return to the Octagon.

After a 1-1 run in the welterweight division, Miller will move back to 185 pounds to face TUF: Brazil’s Daniel Sarafian at UFC Fight Night 58 in Barueri, Brazil, on Dec. 20. The promotion officially announced the match-up on Thursday.

Miller (14-7, 1 no-contest) decided to cut down to 170 pounds after winning five of his 10 UFC bouts as a middleweight. Miller made his welterweight debut in 2012, tapping Ricardo Funch with a guillotine choke, but suffered a first-round TKO to Jordan Mein in his last UFC bout, in March of 2013.

Sarafian (8-5) has also decided to return to his original weight class after a submission loss to Kiichi Kunimoto at 170 pounds earlier this year. Sarafian, who moved to the United States to train with C.B. Dollaway and Ryan Bader for his next bout, is 1-3 under the UFC banner.

UFC Fight Night 58 takes place at the Jose Correa Gymnasium in Barueri, Brazil, and features Lyoto Machida vs. C.B. Dollaway in the main event. Former bantamweight champion Renan Barao battles Mitch Gagnon in the co-main slot.
