UFC president Dana White says that former heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar will be back in the Octagon soon.
One of the biggest stars in UFC history is coming back to the Octagon according to UFC President Dana White.
Speaking on UFC Tonight, White stated Brock Lesnar would return to the cage for the first time since his UFC 200 victory (later overturned to no-contest following a failed drug test) over Mark Hunt.
“Yeah, Brock Lesnar’s coming back,” White said. “I don’t know when, but yes he is.”
Lesnar holds a career MMA record of 5-3 with 1 no contest. He defeated Randy Couture at UFC 91 to win the UFC Heavyweight Championship, defending the title twice before losing to Cain Velasquez via first round TKO at UFC 121. He followed that up with another TKO loss, this time at the hands and feet of Alistair Overeem at UFC 141.
A battle with diverticulitis caused issues during the end of Lesnar’s first UFC run.
He returned to the WWE roster in 2012 and is the current WWE universal champion, set to defend that title against Roman Reigns at Sunday’s WrestleMania 34 event.
On Monday’s edition of WWE Raw, his “advocate” Paul Heyman mentioned Lesnar would not return to the show if he loses the title, making mention of how fans will be able to see him in the UFC Octagon.
White’s comments seem to turn the words from that fictional world into reality.
If/when Lesnar does return, he still has to serve the remaining six months of his one-year USADA suspension, which froze once he retired and exited the testing pool.
