A recent post on the Underground Forums relaying some interesting rumors concerning the Ultimate Fighting Championship, has brought out the promotions President, Dana White, to refute some of those claims.

Forum poster “hammers hamil” claimed that Golden Glory heavyweight Alistair Overeem had been signed by the UFC and would possibly make his debut at UFC 140. He also stated that former UFC champ Brock Lesnar was on the last fight of his contract and was waiting on medicals to determine his future. There are a few other interesting rumors but you’ll have to hit the link to read those tidbits (hit the link above).

White replied to those rumors by posting a few notices of his own, refuting the claim that they had signed Overeem and that Lesnar was on his last fight.

“LOL LITERALLY EVERYTHING THIS GUY SAID IS BS! We talked to GG after i interviewed with ariel. We are not even close to a deal with allistar but we are working on it. Brock is NOWHERE near the end of his contract and isnt waiting for any medical reports. We have no fights on the table for Machida or Rich. Everything he says about strikeforce and showtime is not true and the same with the TV negotiations other than the rumors that have been spread and most people have already heard. He’s not too far off on the last paragraph but any of you could have figured that out and i have said in 50 interviews that we have never been this busy!”

“Brock is better and i have said that in interviews. He will check in with me in the next couple weeks and we will figure out whats next for him. The guy should post on a forum that i dont.”

News broke a couple of weeks ago that Overeem had been kicked out of the Heavyweight Grand Prix and subsequently released from the Strikeforce promotion. The heavyweight has since stated in an interview that he has not been cut and is currently negotiating with the UFC to fight there next.

Lesnar had been coaching opposite Junior dos Santos on season 13 of “The Ultimate Fighter” and was scheduled to meet the Brazilian at UFC 131 in a No. 1 contender bout. Another bout with diverticulitis, undergoing surgery in May to battle the problem, and according to White had a 12-inch piece of his colon removed and repaired.
