Dana White loses some money while betting on the latest big boxing bout that saw Mikey Garcia vs. Errol Spence Jr.
The welterweight fight went down at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas on March 16, 2019 exclusively on FOX PPV. In the end, the fight went the distance with Spence Jr earning the unanimous decision win.
For those who missed the fight, it was a one-sided beatdown that saw Spence outland Garcia 345-75. Garcia’s corner nearly stopped the fight in between rounds. However, in the end, they let the fighter continue to the bitter end.
The UFC President is a huge Garcia fan and decided to bet on him to beat the undefeated fighter. In fact, he placed a $10,000 bet on him to win and stood to collect $33,000 if Garcia had defeated Spence.
Obviously, that didn’t happen but for that kind of money, it’s safe to say that White can afford it.
Just a year ago, there was a report that Garcia was close to signing with White’s new Zuffa Boxing promotion but that never materialized.
