Barueri, Sao Paulo will host UFC Fight Night 29 on Oct. 9, and the main event is already set for Ginasio Poliesportivo Jose Correa.
According to sources close to the UFC, Demian Maia vs. Jake Shields will headline the show. The co-main event will feature two more welterweights, as Erick Silva faces off against Dong Hyun Kim.
Combate first reported Barueri as the local for the event, and MMAFighting.com confirmed it with sources close to the situation.
Barueri is located 23 miles far from Sao Paulo, Brazil’s biggest city, and it is a special place for Demian Maia. In October 2007, in the same arena where the UFC event will take place, the black belt conquered the Super Challenge middleweight title with three wins in one night, defeating Katel Kubis, Gustavo Machado and Fabio Nascimento.
Jeremy Stephens vs. Rony Jason is also scheduled to be on the main card of the event.
