The Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) voted unanimously on Thursday to overturn Dennis Siver’s UFC 168 win over Manny Gamburyan into a no contest as a result of Siver’s failed post-fight drug test.
Siver (21-9, 1 NC) tested positive for human chorionic gonadotropin, also known as hCG, a fertility drug which is commonly used as a weight loss aid and can often increase testosterone production.
The NSAC placed Siver on a nine-month retroactive suspension and fined the featherweight veteran $19,800, 30-percent of his total purse, due to the failed test.
Upon the end of his suspension, Siver will be required to pass a urinalysis in order to regain his license to fight within the state of Nevada.
UFC 168 took place December 28, 2013 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, NV.
