Twitter beefs have become an essential part of the mixed martial arts game. What better place to talk trash than Garbage Island, after all? It’s a great way to keep your name in the news and build up hype for fights with multiple opponents.
Do it right, and it could make you rich. Do it wrong, and … well, let’s take a look at what happened to Conor McGregor entourage member Dillon Danis when he tried to talk s**t about Jake Shields.
It’s not very effective…

Enter Shields, who helpfully reminded Danis how that Submission Underground 4 match pictured went down.
I’m actually old enough to be your dad and still easily beat you at your own sport. Your biggest accomplishment is sucking Conor’s dick https://t.co/2YAPVdMTjZ

And here’s Dillon’s response, which was deleted soon after.

It didn’t take long for the internet to start piling on…

Notice even while trying to make fun of Jake you couldn’t come up with anything near as funny as what you can come up with for Dillon because his entire existence is a joke
— Garry Tonon (@Garry_Tonon) January 13, 2019
Danis’ sole MMA fight went down at Bellator 198 back in April of 2018 – unless you factor in getting jump kicked by Khabib Nurmagomedov in October. We imagine he should be in action again soon, which is probably for the best. He’s way better in the cage than he is on Twitter.
We’ll just leave this poll from Jake Shields to wrap this thing up.
What’s @dillondanis top accomplishment In life. Vote and retweet

And remember kids, when you come at the king, you best not miss.
