Drake lost a whopping $355,000 on a Mike Tyson bet gone wrong Friday night after Jake Paul pieced up the boxing legend for eight rounds, but the millionaire rapper still has a chance to bank $1 million on a Jon Jones knockout win at UFC 309 on Saturday night.

Fight fans were worried for Tyson after learning of Drake’s hefty wager Friday night because the hip-hop mogul doesn’t have the best track record for winning combat bets. Drake usually reserves his wagers for high-profile UFC headliners or anything involving Israel Adesanya, but he came out in support of Tyson as “Iron Mike” tested his luck against Paul.

Of course, Tyson ended up losing via unanimous decision and barely looked to have a pulse over the course of 16 minutes of action. The poor performance cost Drake a chance to cash a payout over $1 million. It would have been a huge win since most were picking Paul to handily defeat Tyson on Netflix (which he did).

Luckily for Drake, he’ll have a chance for redemption later tonight (Sat., Nov. 16, 2024) when Jones defends his UFC heavyweight crown against Stipe Miocic at UFC 309 LIVE on ESPN+ pay-per-view (PPV) from inside Madison Square Garden in New York City. That’s because Drake has already bet $450,000 on a Jones knockout win over Miocic. A victory offers a payout just shy of $1 million, but it would be a great way for Drake to win back the money he lost on Tyson.
