The Ultimate Fighting Championship promotion made twelve bouts official for this coming January’s event in Brazil.
Eight bouts were announced for the preliminary card, including previously identified matches between Yuri ‘Marajó’ Alcantara (27-4) vs. George Roop (12-9-1) at middleweight, while a pair of featherweight bouts include Godofredo ‘Pepey’ Castro (8-1) vs. Milton ‘Miltinho’ Vieira (13-7-2) and Diego Nunes (18-3) vs. Nik ‘The Carny’ Lentz (24-5-2).
New matchups named by the promotion as part of Friday’s announcement, include middleweight tilts between Andrew Craig (8-0) vs. Ronny Markes (13-1) and Michael Kuiper (12-1) vs. Thiago Perpetuo (9-1-1), a pair of lightweight bouts featuring Edson Barboza (10-1) vs. Justin Salas (10-4) and Francisco Trinaldo (11-2) vs. C.J. Keith (8-1), as well as a light heavyweight bout between Roger Hollett (13-4) vs. Wagner Prado (8-1).
The January 19, 2012 event does not have an official title, but UFC Brazil: Belfort vs. Bisping seems appropriate for now as middleweights Vitor Belfort and Michael Bisping headline. No venue or city has been announced just yet.
