Eryk Anders is back in the win column after picking up a first-round knockout victory at UFC Minneapolis this past weekend (Sat. June 29, 2019).

Anders put Vinicius Moreira away to snap his three-fight losing streak. Now, the 32-year-old is already plotting his return to the Octagon, and he’d love for it to take place in the state he grew up in later this month. Speaking to MMA Junkie, Anders revealed he’d like to fight on the UFC on ESPN 4 card from San Antonio, Texas on July 20:

“It would mean the world to me to get out there (at UFC on ESPN 4 in my birth city of San Antonio, Texas). I really don’t get to get back home (often).

“It’s always awesome to get in there and fight in front of your home town. It’s been a while since I’ve been home. … It would mean the world to me to get in there and put on a performance in front of them.”

Anders has been one of the more exciting competitors at both middleweight and light heavyweight since joining the UFC in 2017. He has shared the Octagon with some notable names such as Lyoto Machida, Thiago Santos, and Khalil Rountree Jr.

Should he get the quick turnaround to fight at UFC San Antonio, it would be interesting to see who the Las Vegas-based promotion matches him up against.

Who would you like to see Anders take on in his next Octagon appearance?
