Face Off! Askren And Masvidal Finally Come Face-To-Face

Since the announcement of their much-anticipated matchup, top Welterweight contenders Ben Askren and Jorge Masvidal had yet to come face-to-face ahead of their matchup at this Saturday (July 6, 2019) UFC 239 event in Las Vegas, Nevada.

After no-showing a previous media day, Jorge Masvidal was present during today’s (Thurs., July 4, 2019) media gathering in “Sin City” and finally had the opportunity to eye “Funky” down. Thankfully, the staredown went down without incident.

Indeed, Askren was worried “Gaembred” would lose his cool and somehow find a way to comprise their pivotal 170-pound showdown, especially since Jorge had already warned the wrestling powerhouse of what was to come if he came too close. But aside from Ben asking Masivdal why he’s constantly mad, everything went smoothly.

Also, event headliners Jon Jones and Thiago Santos once again eyed each other down, as did co-headliners Amanda Nunes and Holly Holm. Furthermore, Luke Rockhold and Jan Blachowicz also got up close and personal for the first time.
