Fallon Fox, one of the most controversial and polarizing figures in MMA today, will return to the cage in October for a title fight.

Championship Fighting Alliance will hold its featherweight tournament final on October 12th. Fox (3-0) will meet Ashlee Evans-Smith (1-0), Inside MMA announced on its airwaves Friday evening.

This will be Fox’s fourth professional bout, and third for the CFA promotion. Her tournament victory against Allanna Jones in May won her the spot in the final. She finished that fight via a shin choke submission.

Evans-Smith made her successful pro debut with a decision win at CFA 10 over Tori Adams. Now, she faces her toughest task to date.

The bout will once again generate a lot of interest, and that is something Evans-Smith is not accustomed to yet. Fox brings in a lot of media, and criticism, for her fights since announcing that she was a transgender athlete earlier this year.

Evans-Smith went 5-4 in her amateur career where she met notable fighters such as Jessamyn Duke and Veronica Rothenhausler. She finished three of her five victories by TKO. Her final amateur fight was a 0:05 KO loss to the aforementioned Rothenhausler.

Fox has finished all of her opponents.

Both ladies are still young in their careers, and are still developing their overall MMA game. The strategic aspect of this fight will be just as interesting as how both have improved since their last outings.

The CFA tournament final will see the winner of the bout will claim the tournament championship, and take home $20,000 in cash.

No venue has been announced for the upcoming CFA card.
