A featherweight bout between top prospects Jimy ‘The Kid’ Hettes (10-0) and Steven ‘Super’ Siler (20-9) has been announced by the Ultimate Fighting Championship for the upcoming UFC on FX 4 show.
Two of the featherweight division’s top prospects return to action on June 22nd in Atlantic City, as unbeaten Jimy Hettes, fresh off back to back wins over Alex Caceres and Nam Phan, takes on The Ultimate Fighter 14 vet Steven Siler, who has two consecutive Octagon wins of his own, having beaten Josh Clopton and Cole Miller. This bout has been verbally agreed to.
UFC on FX 4 is expected to take place on June 22, 2012 at Revel Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey. The event is headlined by a five-round non-title bout between UFC lightweights Gray Maynard and Clay Guida.
Hettes is undefeated in his pro-career, with a unanimous decision win over Nam Phan at UFC 141 this past December. The Pennsylvania fighter earned a win over another TUF alum in Alex Caceres, submitting ‘Bruce Leeroy’ last August at the UFC on Versus 5 show. That win was the first time Hettes had every gone into the third round against an opponent, let alone fighting a full fifteen minutes.
Siler was a member of Team Miller during the fourteenth season of TUF, losing in the semi-finals of the reality show before debuting with the UFC at the TUF 14 Finale. At the Las Vegas show, Siler earned a decision over Josh Clopton. He would then go on to earn another decision in his next fight, defeating Cole Miller earlier this month at UFC on FX 2.
