A featherweight matchup between TUF 14 competitor Steven ‘Super’ Siler (21-9) and Darren ‘The Damage’ Elkins (14-2) appears to be on tap for next months upcoming UFC 154: St-Pierre vs. Condit pay-per-view event.
Sources at Siler’s management team, AMR Group, confirmed the fight to MMAWeekly.com on Monday.
UFC 154: St-Pierre vs. Condit is expected to take place on November 17, 2012 at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Fans should expect the bout between Siler and Elkins to appear on the events preliminary card.
Siler has won three straight inside the Octagon, having debuted in December of last year at the TUF 14 Finale. ‘Super’ was last in action this past June at the UFC on FX 4 event, earning a quick first round submission victory against Joey Gambino. Gambino was a late replacement for an injured Jimy Hettes. Siler also earned unanimous decisions over Cole Miller at UFC on FX 2 and against Josh Clopton at the TUF 14 finale.
Elkins has also won three in a row, but is 4-1 overall since debuting with the UFC in March 2010. ‘The Damage’ has won three straight unanimous decisions, defeating Diego Brandao at UFC 146 in May, Zhang Tiequan at UFC 136, and Michihiro Omigawa at UFC 131. The victory over Omigawa marked Elkins debut as a featherweight fighter.
