Fedor Emelianenko returned to MMA in a big way as he defeated Jaideep Singh at Rizin Fighting Federation day 2 on December 31st, 2015 by first-round TKO. Now, everyone wants to know when he’ll fight next. According to the MMA legend, he is looking to get a rematch with current UFC heavyweight champion Fabricio Werdum, and he wants it to be in the UFC.
“Maybe it will happen in the future. I would like to have a rematch against Fabricio Werdum.”
“I’ve told the UFC many times that I want and would accept that fight.”
Werdum and Emelianenko fought back in Strikeforce in June of 2010. Werdum ended up submitting Emelianenko in the first round. Prior to the fight, Emelianenko 11-fight winning streak. After the fight, Emelianenko lost two straight fights in Strikeforce.

The UFC and UFC President Dana White had talked for years about signing Emelianenko before he went to Strikeforce and after Zuffa bought Strikeforce. Even before Emelianenko signed with Rizin FC, he was in talks with the UFC but never signed with the largest MMA promotion in the world.
Werdum is set to fight Stipe Miocic in the main event of UFC 198. As for Emelianenko, there’s no word on when he’ll fight next.
