The upstart Fight Me MMA promotion – a new organization backed by the executives of the American Drag Racing League – made a successful debut on Saturday, and UFC vet Josh Neer submitted Strikeforce fighter Jesse Finney in the headliner.

The event took place in front of an announced soldout crowd at the 10,000-seat Family Arena in St. Charles, Mo.

“Fight Me MMA 1: The Battle Begins!,” which offered free and deeply discounted tickets, also saw WEC/KOTC vet Brendan Seguin submit Strikeforce vet Lucas Lopes in the co-headliner.
