On Sunday, news of a featherweight fight between Swedish based Akira Corassani (10-3, 1NC) and Robbie ‘Problems’ Peralta (16-3, 1NC) surfaced with the two men named to the UFC on FUEL TV 9 event in April.

The bout was announced by MMAjunkie.com who learned of the bout via sources close to the promotion.

The main event for the upcoming Swedish show was just announced this past week as light heavyweights Alexander Gustafsson is set to welcome Gegard Musasi to the Octagon. The event is unofficially being labelled UFC on FUEL TV: Gustafsson vs. Musassi (aka UFC on FUEL TV 9) and has been scheduled for April 6, 2013 at the Ericsson Globe Arena in Stockholm, Sweden.

Corassani finally made his Octagon debut after three scheduled matches, earning a split decision win against Andy Ogle at the first UFC on FUEL TV 5 event last April. Corassani had been scheduled to appear at the TUF 14 Finale and the UFC on Fuel TV 2 events but pulled out both times due to injury. The Swede actually entered the UFC following a loss at a The Zone FC 8 in February 2011, ending a seven fight undefeated streak.

Peralta is 9-0, 1NC in his last ten matches and is 3-0, 1NC in his four Octagon appearances. The California based fighter picked up a 23-second knockout win in his last trip to the Octagon by stopping opponent Jason Young last September at the UFC on FUEL TV 5 show. Before that bout a UFC on FOX 1 win against Mackens Semerzier was overturned to a “No Contest” after it was determined that an accidental headbutt was the cause of the stoppage.
