LAS VEGAS – For the most part, fight-week open workout sessions are a relatively uneventful appointment.

Week after week, fighters come into the session, hit mitts for a bit,
grapple just a touch, work up a light sweat and then take a few minutes
to talk to the media.

Things were different at Tuesday’s “WEC 52: Faber vs. Mizugaki” workouts
in Las Vegas. A room full of media couldn’t wait to see what a 135-pound
Urijah Faber would bring to the session, and
following a medium-intensity workout, the answer was clear: confidence,
and a whole lot of speed.
