Two exciting featherweight prospects, Dustin Poirier and Pablo Garza, have verbally agreed to fight each other on November 12.

Garza is coming off of two spectacular UFC finishes — one flying-knee KO and a flying triangle submission. Poirier is looking to stay undefeated in the UFC with his aggressive slugging style that earned him wins at UFC 125 (against then-top contender Josh Grispi) and UFC 131 as well as a 53-second KO in the WEC.

That announcement was made late Thursday night by the promotion at UFC.com following today’s landmark broadcast deal between the Ultimate Fighting Championship and the FOX broadcast network.

UFC on Fox 1 is expected to take place on November 12 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California and will mark the first event televised on the FOX network.

Dustin ‘The Diamond’ Poirier (10-1) is riding a three fight win streak, and has won both of his Octagon appearances. Poirier was last in action in June at UFC 131, earning a unanimous decision victory over British fighter Jason Young at the Vancouver, Canada event. ‘The Diamond’ debuted with the promotion at UFC 125 this past January, winning a decision over Josh Grispi. His previous two bouts were both with the WEC, beating Zach Micklewright at WEC 52 by TKO and losing to Danny Castillo at WEC 50.

Pablo ‘The Scarecrow’ Garza (11-1) holds a similar record as his opponent, having won both of his UFC appearances and is 2-1 under the Zuffa umbrella. He earned a submission win, and a “Submission of the Night” bonus at UFC 129 in April by stopping Yves Jabouin at the Toronto event. ‘The Scarecrow’ debuted with the UFC in December of last year at the TUF 12 Finale in his featherweight debut, using a flying knee to knockout Fredson Paixão at the Las Vegas event.
