Leon Edwards and Belal Muhammad will finally run it back when the two welterweights meet atop UFC 304’s main card later this evening (Sat., July 27, 2024) live on ESPN+ PPV from inside Co-op Live in Manchester, England. “Rocky” will be putting his 170-pound championship belt on the line for the third-straight time.

These two fighters have been on a crash course over the past few years, but they’ve already shared the Octagon together. Their initial meeting came all the way back at a Fight Night event in March 2021. Edwards and Muhammad headlined that card, but their main event didn’t go the way fight fans expected.

After a back-and-forth first round, Edwards inadvertently poked Muhammad in the eye just 18 seconds into the second frame. The replay showed one of the worst eye pokes we’ve seen in recent memory. Muhammad was in serious pain and couldn’t continue. The fight was ruled a No Contest and was never re-booked.

That fight was well over three years ago. Both Edwards and Muhammad have won every fight since then and have displayed an evolved arsenal inside of the Octagon. Edwards went on to defeat Nate Diaz, Kamaru Usman, and Colby Covington, while Muhammad racked off victories over Demian Maia, Stephen Thompson, Vicente Luque, Sean Brady, and most recently Gilbert Burns.

Pretty impressive stuff from both men, but someone’s streak is going to end later tonight at UFC 304. Who will it be?
