A pair of flyweights have been added to the end year UFC 155: Dos Santos vs. Velasquez II event, as Chris ‘Kamikaze’ Cariaso (14-3) and John Moraga (11-1) have agreed to meet at the Las Vegas event.
Both sides have verbally agreed to the bout according to MMAWeekly.com who reported the bout on Saturday.
UFC 155: Dos Santos vs. Velasquez II is expected to take place on December 29, 2012 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada featuring a heavyweight title rematch between defending champ Junior dos Santos and former title holder Cain Velasquez.
Carioso dropped to 125-lbs for the first time in the Octagon, earning a win at flyweight by defeating Josh Ferguson by unanimous decision at the UFC on FUEL TV 4 event. The victory was ‘Kamikaze’s’ third straight having won a decision against Takeya Mizugaki at UFC 144 and a split decision against Vaughan Lee at UFC 138.
Moraga carries a five fight win streak into the fight having won his Octagon debut this past August at UFC on FOX 4 by stopping Ulysses Gomez in the first round. Moraga had been scheduled to face Ian McCall but ‘Uncle Creepy’ was forced out with an injury. Moraga’s other wins took place under several different promotions including winning the Rage in the Cage 135-lbs title in June of this year.
