A bout in the flyweight division was announced for UFC on FOX 3 pitting Louis ‘Goodnight’ Gaudinot (5-2), who drops down from bantamweight, versus former Jungle Fight champ John Lineker (19-5).
The bout was added to the third FOX card on Friday at UFC.com.
The UFC flyweight division continues to take shape as Louis Gaudinot returns to his true weight class after his stint on last season’s Ultimate Fighter. He’ll next face John Lineker, who will enter the UFC riding a 13-fight win streak. Both fighters have verbally agreed to the matchup at UFC on FOX in May.
UFC on Fox: Diaz vs. Miller (aka UFC on FOX 3) is expected to take place May 5 at the IZOD Center in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The event is headlined by a five-round non-title lightweight bout between Nate Diaz vs. Jim Miller.
Fans who watch “The Ultimate Fighter” will remember Gaudinot from season fourteen as a member of Team Bisping. He lost to Dustin Pague in the bantamweight quarter-finals of the show in a bout that would both fighters the “Fight of the Season” bonus. Gaudinot debuted with the UFC at the TUF 14 Finale, losing to Johnny Bedford via third round TKO, ending a four fight win streak.
Lineker enters the Octagon on a thirteen fight win streak, with seven of those wins coming in 2011. The Brazilian’s last victory took place at the Jungle Fight 32 show last September, earning a split decision win. So far Lineker has earned eight victories by (T)KO, three by submission and seven by decision over his career, with one Disqualification victory to his record.
