heavyweight champion, he refuses to
let the expectations of a nation weigh him down.

Sure, Velasquez is proud of his heritage (witness his
oft-discussed “Brown Pride” tattoo).

But when he faces Brock Lesnar Saturday at UFC 121, the 28-year-old believes it will be his work ethic
– and not his ethnicity – that will be tested.
