The family of Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva is none too happy about the accusations Wanderlei Silva has written on his Facebook about them. Especially because they claim none of them are true.

Things haven’t been easy for Wanderlei Silva lately. After having to publicly apologize to the UFC for his fight-fixing accusations which was followed by his release from the company, he’s still awaiting the outcome of a re-hearing of his NAC case over a life time ban from MMA. And now he might have to deal with another lawsuit, this one from a former president of his country.

Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, who was elected in 2002 and then again in 2006 is looking into suing “The Axe Murderer” stemming from what he claims are a series of false accusations. On his Facebook page, Wanderlei posted a picture of one of Lula’s son fueling a yacht. Silva went on to question where the money to buy a boat like that might have come from. Here’s the whole post.

“I don’t even want to criticize. I just want to know where all the money came from because they weren’t that rich before his father became president. I don’t know how much is the salary of the president, but I don’t think he can afford to buy a boat worth 20 million reais during eight years in office. That’s 96 months in office, which divided by 20 million makes 208 thousand a month. And we’re talking about just one boat, not to mention airplanes, farms and everything else. Where did it all come from? What’s the point of all this? Where does it go? Money does not bring happiness, only comfort. Lying in bed at night without a guilty conscience, now that’s priceless. I wish justice would be made just one time. It’s infuriating to see that happening in a country where children live on the streets, eating garbage. He can escape from the justice of men, but nobody escapes from God. You know the truth.”

A reply on Lula’s Facebook page, states that no one in their family owns airplanes, boats or anything Wanderlei claims they do. Furthermore, the response states that Silva’s claims have been passed to their attorneys.

“A lot of people call MMA ‘Anything Goes’ and if that’s true, the same does not apply to social media. You can’t lie, for example. We are sorry that Wanderlei Silva, a fighter who is a role model to so many Brazilians doesn’t mind using his Facebook to share lies about Lula and his family. But since he won’t  verify the veracity of what he publishes, we will say it again. Lula’s sons don’t have yachts, airplanes or own any big companies, among any other insanity repeated to exhaustion by someone who is not committed to the truth. Silva’s post has been passed on to the former president’s family’s lawyers, who will decide what legal procedures to take.”
