Cody East, who fought twice inside the Octagon before being released by the UFC, is once again in trouble with the law.
East has been charged with aggravated battery against a household member, false imprisonment and aggravated assault against a household member, according to a report by MMA Fighting.
He is currently being held in the Albuquerque, New Mexico Bernalillo County Metropolitan Detention Center on $30,000 bail.
The 28-year-old was sentenced to three years in prison in 2008 on a child abuse charge and was also arrested in 2006 and 2010 on domestic violence charges. Prosecutors did not purse either case those times, but East was arrested two other times on sexual assault charges.
East (12-3) suffered a TKO loss to Curtis Blaydes this past October after dropping his UFC debut to Walt Harris at UFC 197 in April. He was first noticed on UFC president Dana White’s “Lookin’ for a Fight” series.
