Aspen Ladd (8-0, 3-0 UFC) has quickly made her presence felt inside the Ultimate Fighting Championship UFC) Octagon, winning her first three fights since making her debut back in 2017. In her sophomore effort, Ladd (24) faced longtime veteran Tonya Evinger at last year’s massive UFC 229 pay-per-view (PPV) event.

Both came out swinging from the jump, but neither managed to connect cleanly. After scoring a takedown, Ladd got into great position to unleash some bombs on Evinger, but the veteran managed to weather the storm.

After failing to sink in a rear-naked choke, Ladd once again piled on the punches after taking her back and flattening her out. This time around, however, Evinger had no answer and the referee was forced to put an end to the punishment.

Now, Aspen will look to insert herself into the thick of a the championship picture with a win over Germaine de Randamie at this Saturday night’s (July 13, 2019) UFC Fight Night 155 event in Sacramento, CA.

It won’t be easy, as Germaine — the former UFC women’s Featherweight champion — is as tough and skilled as they come, and is also looking for her second championship in as many divisions.

With women’s Bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes running out of opponents at 135 pounds, it’s safe to say the winner of this matchup will get an opportunity to tame the “Lioness.”
