Max Holloway will look to reclaim the Ultimate fighting Championship (UFC) Featherweight title this Sat. night (July 11, 2020) at UFC 251 in Yas Island, Abu Dhabi when he faces current division king, Alexander Volkanovski. Before then, take a look back at “Blessed’s” dominate title defense against Brian Ortega.

The two men squared off inside the Octagon in the main event of UFC 231 in December of 2018 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Ortega as coming in riding a hot streak of 14 straight wins, no defeats and one draw, so you can’t blame fight fans and media for giving “T-City” a good shot at dethroning Holloway, who was set to make his second title defense.

But come fight night, though, Max left no doubt as to why he was the king of the mountain, punishing Ortega for 20 minutes before forcing a doctor’s stoppage. To his credit, Ortega hung in there tough and had some shining moments, but Holloway simply proved to be too much for the rising star.

Now, Holloway will look to once again reclaim the throne by exacting some revenge on the man who took his title seven months ago. Should he fail to do so, we could very well see “Blessed” make a jump up to Lightweight in the coming months.
