Alistair Overeem was set to face Walt Harris at UFC Fight Night 172 event in Portland, Ore., on April 11, 2020, but that event was postponed by Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) because of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

For now, let’s take a trip down memory lane to see one of “The Reem’s” most dominant performances inside the Octagon. In April of last year, Overeem traveled all the way to St. Petersburg, Russia to face off against Aleksei Oleinik after his original opponent, Alexander Volkov, bowed out with an injury.

The action got started early as Oleinik managed to tag Overeem with a wild overhand right hand just 60 seconds in. Smelling blood, the submission expert started unloading bombs on “The Demolition Man,” who ultimately managed to weather the storm. Overeem didn’t have a whole lot of time to gain his composure, though, as Oleinik once again jumped into pile on the punishment.

After surviving a second time, Overeem turned the tide on his exhausted foe, hitting him with his trademark knees to the body before delivering a crushing blow that set him crumbling to the canvas. Once there, “The Reem” unleashed a flurry of punches to put n end to the fight.

As far as Overeem’s fight against Harris, it will be re-scheduled for a later date.
