Whether or not Greg Hardy makes a successful run as a professional mixed martial artist, there’s no denying that the former NFL star has absolute dynamite in his hands.
In just his second professional appearance, Hardy made quick work of fellow heavyweight Tebaris Gordon earlier this month on “Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series.” It took Hardy just 17 seconds to charge Gordon and put him away with a flurry of punches for his second-straight knockout victory.
Luckily for fight fans who missed the action, UFC has opened up its vault and released the full fight video for Hardy vs. Gordon (shown above). Again, it didn’t last long, but it’s worth seeing how Hardy handles himself before, during, and after his memorable reboot on “DWTNCS.”
While Hardy is a promising 30-year-old heavyweight prospect who has finished each and every one of his professional and amateur fights via first-round knockout, UFC president Dana White isn’t quite ready to bring the former Dallas Cowboys and Carolina Panthers defensive star to the big leagues. White believes that the hard-hitting knockout artist needs to further develop his wrestling game.
So for now, Hardy will continue to call Fight Pass home and compete strictly on Tuesday nights. But if he continues to end opponents like he did Gordon three weeks ago it’s going to be hard to keep his explosive hands away from a shallow UFC heavyweight division.
