Free fight: Watch Kevin Lee choke out James Moontasri at UFC Fight Night 71 (Video)

Before Kevin Lee takes on Michael Chiesa this weekend (Sun., June 25, 2017) at UFC Fight Night 112 inside Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, let’s take a trip down memory lane to see one of Lee’s most impressive performances.

In 2015, Lee found himself face-to-face with Jams Moontasri at UFC Fight Night 71 in a battle of rising Lightweights. The bout started off exciting from the jump, as the combatants traded strike-for-strike, including multiple successful kicks to the body from both men.

After getting poked in the eye, Lee came out even more aggressive, pushing the pace against his foe and ultimately scoring a couple of knees from the clinch. Soon thereafter, Lee scored a takedown on Moontasri. After fighting for position on the ground, Lee managed to get his foe’s back and sink in an air-tight rear-naked choke to put an end to the bout.

The victory gave Lee his fourth in a row. And though he suffered a loss against Leonardo Santos in his next fight, he went on to earn another four-fight win streak which led to his first-ever headlining fight against “Maverick.”

UFC Fight Night 112 will also feature a co-headlining bout between Johny Hendricks and Tim Boetsch, as well as the return of B.J. Penn as he faces off against Dennis Siver.
