Tyson Fury remained undefeated by defeating Otto Wallin by unanimous decision in a gruelling fight.
Tyson Fury (29-0-1, 20 KOs) fought hard after suffering a massive cut to his right eye to defeat Otto Wallin (20-1, 13 KOs) by unanimous decision.
It was obvious from the opening round that Wallin would be more of a challenge than Fury’s last opponent Tom Schwarz. The Swede enjoyed a good first round, not shying away and putting Fury on the back foot straight away.
Starting off the fight in orthodox, Fury switched to southpaw in the second round and started to find his rhythm. A left hand put Wallin on the back foot as the challenger favoured going to the body of Fury. A massive cut which came from a left hand of Wallin opened on the eyebrow of Fury at the end of round three.
Wallin fed off the cut that clearly was troubling Fury’s vision in his right eye. Referee Tony Weeks called the doctor in midway through the sixth round to check the cut, and straight after Fury started to go to work and up his output. Wallin should have been deducted a point at the end of the sixth round when he tried to thumb the cut on Fury’s eye.
Fury clearly felt a sense of desperation come the seventh round as the cut continued to get worse. Wallin was beginning to get tired as Fury started to put together some good combinations and backed Wallin up against the ropes with a big right hand.
Having a great ninth round, Fury stunned Wallin with a short uppercut, forcing him up against the ropes and troubling him again with the straight right. His onslaught continued at the beginning of the tenth as Wallin seemed to be fading more and more in the fight with Fury starting to punish his body.
Out of nowhere Wallin landed a left hook at the start of the twelfth round that hurt Fury. It was now the Brit who was on the backfoot as Wallin tried to salvage something, but both men survived and the fight went the distance.

The expectation now is that Fury will heal up after his grueling fight, and if Deontay Wilder beats Luis Ortiz on November 23rd, then the Wilder vs. Fury II showdown is on for February 2020.
