Check out how the judges scored this epic heavyweight contest.

Tyson Fury bested Deontay Wilder in a classic heavyweight clash last night, beating the American by KO in the 11th round. The fight didn’t go all Fury’s way, though, with him getting knocked down twice on route to a historic victory.

Wilder scored two knockdowns in the fourth round. Fury had scored a knockdown in the second and then got another in the tenth. In the eleventh round he sent Wilder to the canvas with a big right hand and the referee called off the fight.

Obviously the judges weren’t needed for this one. But here’s how they scored the 10 rounds of action:

Dave Moretti scored the rounds 95-91 in Fury’s favour. Tim Cheatham had 94-92 Fury and Steve Weisfeld had 95-92 Fury. The judges were more of less in concert in how they saw the fight going. Cheatham went against the others in round two—scoring it for Wilder. Weisfeld differed from the other two when it came to the tenth; scoring it 10-9 for Fury. The other two judges gave Fury a 10-8.

The win gave Fury a 2-0-1 record against Wilder. Their first contest, back in 2018, was ruled a split draw; controversially ensuing a big money rematch. Fury won the second bout, in 2020, by seventh round TKO.

After the second bout Fury had agreed to face Anthony Joshua. It’s unclear if that bout will go ahead after Joshua lost to Olexandr Usyk last month.
