Gabi Garcia will finally make her MMA debut.
A nine-time jiu-jitsu world champion and ADCC winner, Garcia has signed a deal with Brazilian MMA promotion Jungle Fight and is set to compete for the first time on March 28 in a yet-to-be-announced event in Sao Paulo.
Tatame first reported the news, and MMAFighting.com confirmed it with sources close to the situation.
Garcia was originally scheduled to make her MMA debut on Dec. 23 in Tokyo, but Japanese promotion Real Fight failed to find an opponent for her. It was reported that Garcia would face 42-year-old bantamweight Megumi Yabushita, but the Brazilian later declined the offer.
The Brazilian grappler is willing to cut down to 185 pounds for her first MMA bout, but Jungle Fight is still looking for an opponent.
