Julia Budd has a new opponent for her Bellator debut.
Undefeated Brazilian grappler Talita Nogueira, scheduled to take on Budd at the Bellator 133 card in Fresno on Feb. 13, will be replaced by Gabrielle Holloway, who makes her promotional debut on a 10 days’ notice.
Nogueira was forced out of the bout due to a knee injury. Sources close to the situation confirmed the switch to MMAFighting.com.
Budd (6-2), a former Strikeforce and Invicta FC featherweight, fights for the first time under the Bellator banner after racking up a four-fight winning streak, including a decision victory over Charmaine Tweet.
Holloway, who finished Lacie Jackson in a welterweight title bout 10 days ago, went 7-0 as amateur fighter before becoming a professional MMA fighter in 2012. Since then, “Gabanator” won four of five, including two stoppage victories.
Bellator 133 takes place at the SaveMart Center in Fresno, Calif., and is headlined by a middleweight clash between former champion Alexander Shlemenko and Melvin Manhoef.
