Darren Till is done with the Welterweight division…for now.

“The Gorilla” will have an easier weight cut for his next fight, as he is making the move up to Middleweight to face Kelvin Gastelum at the upcoming UFC 244 pay-per-view (PPV) event, set to go down inside Madison Square Garden in New York City on Nov. 2, 2019.

Having competed at 170 and 185 pounds throughout his mixed martial arts (MMA) career, Till has lost his last two fights at Welterweight, getting submitted by Tyron Woodley in his first-ever UFC title fight at UFC 228, and then getting knocked out by Jorge Masvidal six months later.

Still, making 170 has at times proved to be a tough cut for Till, who has missed weight twice in eights fights inside the Octagon. And judging by this video, getting there is one tough battle.

Gastelum, meanwhile, will head back into the cage after coming up short in his bid to claim the interim Middleweight strap earlier this year at UFC 236 against Israel Adesanya. Like Till, Gastelum has bounced around from the two weight classes throughout his career.

And like just like Till, he’s missed weight a couple of times when fighting at 170 pounds before making his move back up.

Both Till and Kelvin always prefer to let the action play out on the feet, so fight fans should be in for a treat come fight night. Plus, the victor could really insert himself into the mix with an impressive showing.

Early predictions?

UFC 244 is in line to be headlined by a Welterweight title fight that will see Kamaru Usman defend his belt against Colby Covington, though that title fight has yet to be made official.

Furthermore, Johnny Walker and Corey Anderson will collide in what could be dubbed a title eliminator fight at Light Heavyweight, while Derrick Lewis and Blagoy Ivanov throw down in Heavyweight action.
