Former TUF 7 contestant Gerald Harris will step back into the Octagon on August 28 to replace the injured Jorge Rivera and take on experienced fighter Alessio Sakara at UFC 118: Edgar vs. Penn 2 from Boston. Harris just fought at UFC 116 where he secured a KO victory over Dave Branch, increasing his current win streak to 10, with three of those coming in the UFC.
Sakara, being no slouch himself, has also put together a three fight win streak, his last coming at UFC Live: Vera Vs. Jones where he defeated a lean James Irvin. Sakara was getting close to a title shot when he was lined up to fight former number one contender Nate Marquardt as part of UFC 116, but Sakara had to drop out of the bout due to the death of his father.
UFC 118: Edgar Vs. Penn 2 will feature UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar taking on former champion BJ Penn as well as a showcase bout between lightweight contenders Gray Maynard and Kenny Florian. Also on the card is the unforgetable matchup between UFC Hall of Famer Randy “The Natural” Couture and Boxing Champion James Toney. UFC 118 will mark the first show for the promotion in Boston, and the promotion is certainly bringing a great card to town.
