A middleweight bout between former UFC fighter Gerald ‘Hurricane’ Harris (18-4) and PRIDE veteran Kazuhiro Nakamura (15-10) has been officially added to the list of bouts for September’s DREAM.17 event in Japan. That brings the number of official bouts for the event to nine.

DREAM.17 is scheduled to take place on September 24 at the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan. The event is expected to feature the opening round of the DREAM World Bantamweight Grand Prix tournament, and will also feature a lightweight non-title bout between DREAM champ Shinya Aoki and WEC vet Rob McCullough.

Harris was released from the UFC late last fall after dropping a decision to Brazilian Maiquel Falcão at UFC 123, ending a ten fight win streak. ‘Hurricane’ has since gone 1-1, losing a decision to James Head at an Xtreme Fight Night event and earning a unanimous decision over Anthony Ruiz at Tachi Palace Fights 9 in May.

Nakamura is a former PRIDE veteran who made two appearances with the UFC at UFC 76 and UFC 84, losing both of his fights against Lyoto Machida and Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou. The Japanese fighter hasn’t fought since July of last year but is currently on a two fight win streak. The July bout, a unanimous decision win against Karl Amoussou, took place at DREAM.15 and represented his debut with the promotion.
