GLORY’s new deal with Spike TV could lead to co-promotion with Bellator.

Following Thursday’s announcement that the upstart kickboxing promotion had signed a new multi-year television deal with Spike, Marcus Luer, the managing direction of Glory Sports International, the promotion’s parent company, told MMAFighting.com that he was open to the idea of sharing talent with Spike’s other combat sports property, Bellator MMA.

“If the opportunity shows up with a fighter,” he said, “we are open to explore.

“We had some discussions with [Bellator CEO] Bjorn [Rebney] a while back but nothing concrete.”

Of course, that was before both brands were under the Spike TV umbrella.

Bellator officials did not respond when asked if they were interested in sharing fighters with GLORY.

GLORY held its ninth event in New York last weekend, which featured Spong winning a one-night light heavyweight tournament.

The promotion is expected to make its debut on Spike in October.
