‘Good Boy’ Won’t Roll Over For Belfort

I’m sure Vitor Belfort was expecting to set sail for Singapore and spend his twilight years recycling cans on the International fight scene, or perhaps lock down a (cough) “super fight” against the mummified remains of boxing relic Roy Jones Jr.

Cosmo Alexandre has other plans.

The “Good Boy” — who was anything but during his first-round shellacking of Sage Northcutt earlier this month overseas — wants to continue his bone collection at the expense of the recently-signed UFC legend.

“I’m not interested in the belt right now,” Alexandre told BJPenn.com. “Right now I want the big fights. I would love to welcome Vitor Belfort in his ONE Championship debut. I already have seven world titles, I already fought all the big names in Muay Thai and kickboxing. So for now, I just want the big names, and to make big money. I can fight mixed martial arts, Muay Thai or kickboxing. I can do it all, and I bring everything I have in the ring or cage. I am waiting just for the call.”

Belfort (26-14, 1 NC) parted ways with UFC in the wake of his knockout loss to Lyoto Machida roughly one year back, perhaps butthurt that Dana White and Co. would not create a “Legends League” to keep the 42 year-old Brazilian on retainer.

While Bellator MMA is no stranger to geriatric headliners, “The Phenom” ultimately settled on the green grass and high tides in ONE Championship, a veritable haven for ex-UFC fighters looking to revitalize their careers.

Too bad animals like Alexandre and Timofey Nastyukhin aren’t sticking to the script.
