Davey Grant remains in high spirits even after his bloody three-round fight with Marlon Vera at UFC Vegas 29

Five years ago, bantamweights Marlon Vera and Davey Grant engaged in a bloody three-round battle. At the time, it was Grant who emerged victorious via unanimous decision.

The two ran it back six years later in another blood-soaked affair on Saturday night at UFC Vegas 29. But this time, it was “Chito” who emerged victorious with a dominant decision victory.

Grant was on the receiving end of a few elbow strikes to the face which opened up a gash on his forehead. But despite the loss, the TUF 18 alum remains in high spirits.

The 35-year-old Grant took to Instagram to show his post-fight face and issue a statement.

Still smiling

Hats off to Chito for a great fight. Thought it was really close but no regrets, left it all in there and absolutely gutted not to get the win.

Heal up, lots of family time then back in the gym and we go again!

Thank you so much to everyone for the constant support it really means the world to me. ??

Unlike in their first bout, Vera and Grant earned $50,000 bonuses apiece this time for Fight of the Night.
