One word: ouch.

We have grown accustomed to seeing gruesome injuries happen inside of the cage. There are, however, rare occasions where they happen outside of the cage. This is one of those occasions and it comes to you all thanks to former strawweight champion, Joanna Jedrzejczyk.

Jedrzejczyk appeared to spend her Monday afternoon getting stitched up after sustaining a nasty cut on her shin. If you were curious to see just how nasty the cut was (of course you were since you are here reading this), then you are in luck because she posted several photos of what it looked like before and after it was worked on.

Warning: The photos below are graphic. Please proceed with caution.

The first photo is nothing to fret over too much. It shows Jedrzejczyk with her leg bandaged up, but she seems to be in good spirits on account of her sporting the signature two thumbs up salute. Sure, there is a bit of blood behind the leg but we do not see what caused it, so we are good for right now.

It is not until you scroll to the next picture that you see the doozy of a cut on her leg. It is pretty significant and it is very clear that it would have required some kind of stitching because that is definitely not closing on its own.

The final — and perhaps the most gag-inducing — photo is a nice close up of the V-shaped cut. At this point, there is only one word that can sum up how we are probably all feeling after seeing that: ouch.

Jedrzejczyk accompanied these photos with a caption that thanked the doctors who helped her and revealed that she can return to training as soon as tomorrow. She has been planning her return to the Octagon since spending time away after her ‘Fight of the Year’ performance opposite of then-champion Weili Zhang at UFC 248.

Jedrzejczyk called for the winner of the fight between Zhang and fellow former opponent, Rose Namajunas, after UFC 261 but there is no word on whether she will get that fight in her next appearance.
