Add another name to the long list of potential opponents, which have included talks of matches against Conor McGregor, Nate Diaz, Michael Bisping and Tyron Woodley, former longtime UFC Welterweight Champion Georges St-Pierre is now talking about a potential rematch against one of his biggest career rivals, Nick Diaz.

During a recent interview with BloodyElbow.com, GSP spoke about his reasons for wanting to possibly step back into the Octagon against Diaz, including his belief that he felt like he didn’t give enough in their first fight, despite winning “easily.”

GSP said the following about a potential rematch with Diaz, who is finally able to return to the Octagon himself after completing an 18-month reduced suspension handed down by the Nevada Athletic Commission.

“I beat him last time easily, but I was not happy — it’s one of these fights that I’m not happy with,” St-Pierre said. “Because I didn’t feel like I gave enough, for different reasons. It left me angry that fight, when I look back at it — maybe I won, but for some reason it left me angry and I feel like I could have done so much better.”

St-Pierre also reacted to recent comments made by Diaz in an interview he did about his NAC suspension ending where he claimed GSP is afraid to fight him again. As GSP elaborated in the Bloody Elbow interview, he made it quite clear that isn’t the case.

“I don’t care if it’s the first, or second, or third,” GSP said. “If they want me to fight Nick Diaz it would be my pleasure. I don’t mind, I am not afraid of Nick Diaz, I beat him last time, and I’ll beat even worse, I’ll beat him way worse next time that I’ll fight him.”

“It seems to me to me like it’s Nick Diaz that is running for another shot at me,” St-Pierre said. “I wouldn’t mind, I’m not afraid of Nick Diaz, I’ll tell you. I am telling you right now. If it’s what the fans want to see, I’m in.”
