Mitch Gagnon will end an almost two-year absence from action this December when he returns at UFC 206 vs. Matthew Lopez.
A native Canadian, Gagnon has been on the sidelines since December 2014 when he lost to former UFC champion Renan Barao with injuries. Prior to the setback, he had won four in a row, including three submissions.
Lopez (8-1) dropped his debut with the UFC when he fell to Rani Yahyua via submission. The 29-year-old had scored finishes in seven of his eight pro fights before falling.
UFC 206 takes place December 10 from the Air Canada Centre in Toronto. Daniel Cormier vs. Anthony Johnson is the scheduled main event for the light heavyweight title.
