This past Sunday, online activists hacked into the UFC.com website and redirected traffic to another site. UFC president Dana White was more interested in the NFL games that day than their protest for his companies support of the controversial internet piracy legislation, SOPA and PIPA.
White challenged the attacker to return calling them “terrorists” and blaming them for re-kindling the flame for a “bill that was about to die.”
On Thursday night, the activists made their present felt but instead of attacking the promotion itself they directed their attention directly at Dana White himself.
One of the hackers, who ID’s himself as Josh Matthews with the Twitter handle @JoshTheGod, along with a few others, took credit for publishing Dana White’s personal information such as his social security number, personal phone numbers, his home address, plus more personal information.
White had a running Twitter (@DanaWhite) battle with those who disagree with his companies support, as well as those offering their support for the UFC president.
Here is a sample of one of those conversations with @YourAnonNews
– I love the Internet. It helped us grow our biz. Stealing is stealing! And hacking into people’s shit is terrorism.
– same guys on the net bitching about fighter pay are the ones who are stealing from them. That are our partners on PPV!
– and yes cowards hide on the Internet! At least I’m man enough to say all my shit in public and not hide behind a screen name!!
– no i’m a fight promoter. I put on fights. People are stealing my shit on the net and selling it or selling ads on it.
– me and my partners have busted our ass for 10 years to build the sport and co. When you steal you should be dealt with! Agree?
