The former #1 contender has spent his time since his loss to UFC welterweight champ Georges St-Pierre back in March trying to improve his wrestling skills. In fact, it’s something the entire Brit based Rough House team has taken it upon themselves to improve.

“People are talking about how we don’t have any wrestling here, that the Rough House can’t handle wrestlers, but if you look at a couple of our last fights – Georges St-Pierre and Josh Koscheck – you have two of the very best wrestlers in the division there.”

“Outside of any specific opponent, I have been focusing diligently on my wrestling and jiu-jitsu since the Georges St-Pierre fight. I spent a few months in the U.S. working on just that. Even during the preparations for Carlos Condit, I have been focusing on evening out my skills more in all areas.”

Against Condit, Hardy’s new wrestling skills probably won’t be tested as they would have been in his last fight, as Condit is trained more in kickboxing and Jiu-Jitsu with 11 knockout wins as well as 13 submission wins. “The Outlaw” will certainly try to keep the fight standing and stay off the mat.
