Undefeated heavyweight prospect Greg Hardy, who is perhaps best known for his troubles on and off the field in NFL, is likely one win away from making his Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) debut in early 2019.

The means to that end is victory at Island Fights 51, which takes place Dec. 21, 2018 inside Pensacola Bay Center in Pensacola, Fla., according to ESPN, where Hardy will battle a heavyweight opponent to be named.

Hardy (3-0) slugged his way into a UFC contract on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series back in June. In addition to his three wins as a pro, the 30 year-old power-puncher also has three wins on the amateur circuit, all by way of knockout.

His success inside the cage has done little to direct attention away from his troubled past, which includes charges of domestic violence, but White and Co. appear to be committed to bringing Hardy into the 265-pound fold.

Unless something dramatic happens on Dec. 21.
